Fiovana, which means “change” in Malagasy, aims to achieve a sustainable improvement in food and nutritional security and the resilience of vulnerable populations in the Atsimo Atsinanana and Vatovavy-Fitovinany regions. FIOVANA is the continuation of the ASOTRY project and it will build on the successes, relationships and connections gained through this project.
Collectively, the levels of poverty, food insecurity and stunting in the southeastern regions of Vatovavy-Fitovinany and Atsimo Atsinanana are among the highest in the country. FIOVANA aims to directly address the underlying causes through interventions focusing on health, nutrition, agriculture, livelihoods and risk management practices which, when adopted collectively by households and communities, contribute directly to transformative change. All of FIOVANA's interventions will seek to empower women and girls, while simultaneously directing the discourse on empowering men and boys to become agents of change in their communities and homes. These activities will be divided between the three objectives listed below:
Adventist Development and Relief Agency
Agronomists and Veterinarians without Borders
CALL Madagascar
USAID
