The Soa project is led by the FAO and implemented by GRET. It aims to secure agricultural production to reduce the impacts of food crises and shorten lean periods. In 25 municipalities in the Androy and Anosy regions, the aim is in particular to promote the supply of quality seeds to farmers adapted to agro-ecological conditions, to strengthen the capacities of seed actors involved in the multiplication and the marketing of seeds, and to popularize technical itineraries specific to climatic constraints and preserving natural resources. GRET supports the Agnarafaly seed production center in the Androy region. The project will benefit 100,000 vulnerable farming households in the Androy and Anosy regions.
